As we have already said in a previous post on this blog, resins are very important elements in the process of leather finishing. There are various types of resins, and each one has specific peculiarities. In particular, Veco offers three main categories of resins: acrylic resins, polyurethanic resins and resins NMP free.

On this post we will deal with resins NMP free. NMP (i.e. N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone) is an organic compound with many applications, which can be found also in some resins, and it is therefore well-known among leather chemical suppliers. However, the product catalogue of Veco includes also some resins which do not have NMP. Here are some of them!
VECOSOL BINDER U 010 sn: this water based aromatic Polyurethane resin has the capacity of conferring good adhesion to different coating layers. It also develops a good water resistance and has the capacity of enhancing colour brilliance if added to liquid dyes.
VECOSOL BINDER U 3030: this is a medium soft PU binder which stands out for some special peculiarities such as warm touch and good covering. Thanks to these peculiarities it is also used for base coats on soft leathers and in general when it is necessary to have a natural feel.
VECOSOL BINDER U 317 sn: this product has been especially conceived to be used when there is a poor finishing adhesion also between different coating layers.
VECOSOL BINDER u 410 sn: this medium hard polyurethane binder can be used in many ways, thanks to its peculiarities. This product, indeed, is very resistant to water, alcohol and organic solvents; it has a full and pleasant touch and a transparent film; it has a good adhesion and excellent sealing and covering; it is characterized by wet and dry rub-fastness.
